My Approach

My theoretical approach to mental health issues is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Numerous studies have shown CBT to be the most effective psychological treatment for anxiety and mood disorders. CBT helps people change their thoughts and behaviour in order to improve the way they feel. CBT approach has proven to be very helpful to people with low self esteem and to those who feel they lack assertiveness needed to succeed in life.

Individuals who are seeking therapy in order to resolve a specific problem in their life or those who need help in making an important decision may benefit from a short term Solution Focused Brief Therapy.

I will work with you to give you tools, techniques and support to understand the situation, and find new ways of coping with life’s stresses and challenges. These tools and techniques are effective coping strategies for various issues that you may encounter in the future and to become your own therapist.

My professional style is warm, supportive, and engaging. I work collaboratively with my clients toward establishing and reaching the therapy goals.

My commitment to clients is to remain current and offer the most effective strategies and interventions possible. I am consistently involved in professional development activities and attend courses and workshops on a regular basis.
